FAQ Page
Keepsake is structured to avoid negative vitriol that offers no benefit to other patrons or the theatre. Criticism for the sake of criticizing is not something that will be documented. Trolling will not be tolerated. With that said, if you are a theatre that expects every audience member to have nothing but flowery and butterfly like comments for your show, COME ON!
It doesn’t happen except on the rarest of occasion. People have ideas and opinions and the artistic space should be a place where people can communicate those ideas, and have those ideas challenged or accepted by other members of the audience. Also, and this is most important, many times, people with dissenting opinions (those that don’t say “The show was wonderful, the acting was wonderful, everything was wonderful”) will not return to a theatre if their voice is either, not allowed to be expressed or is shut down from expression. YOU WANT TO HEAR THE VOICES OF THOSE WHO MAY HAVE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM!
Keepsake wants to respect voices that may seem “unflattering” to you, but are in fact necessary for people to express, if you ever want to tap into to the “pL” of the formula outlined on the site.
The things you sell or give away are simple reminders: "Oh I went to this thing, this play". They hold transitory value that rapidly depreciates over time.
Keepsake is a simple reminder. It is recognition of participation, it is validation of voices (ideas, experiences and feelings), and it is recognition of the human condition. It is connection via communication within a community, the solidification of belonging, and personal ideas made manifest in material form for long term keeping and sharing.
And keepsake is identity affirming. The value of Keepsake continually appreciates over time.
I am ridiculously passionate about bringing products to our community that will elevate its status. And it is hard to do because theatre is unlike any other industry. And theatre, unfortunately, is limited to what type of products it can bring to its constituency.
I work hard to conceive develop and bring innovative ideas to our industry. Over the years, this is the 3rd product I've brought to life (although I have developed 4, one of which I did not release). It ain’t easy developing products that can have a big impact on our community.
